Our goal for the last 22 years has been to develop commercial bulls that will be useful to commercial cattlemen, and by useful I mean to make a difference to their bottom line. Commercial cattle business has become a business driven by information and data over the last decade. Our cattle excel in a number of areas:
Gain on feed
Ribeye average in carcass
Conversion efficiency on feed
And most important of all, they excel in profitability. Our philosophy is that form follows function. Decatur County Feed Yard in Kansas reports to us that the first and fourth most profitable pens of steers fed last year (2003) were sired by Willow Oak bulls. That’s from more than 40,000 head fed.
